| This site has been
designed to enable parents and children to hopefully find some helpful
hints on literacy and numeracy (English and maths). Yes before anyone says
it I know the sites name is not grammatically correct and you don't spell
kidz with a z but there are a couple of reasons why I have done this. The
first is that abc123 kids with an s was not available. The second is that
in this modern age of mobile technology many words are spelt incorrectly
for ease of typing so i thought I'd jump on that bandwagon. Finally I
could have called my site alpha numeric offspring .com but that didn't
conjure up quite the child friendly image I was aiming for, so
abc123kidz.com it is.
Why have I started this site? Well I have worked with Key Stage 1 children (Years 1 and 2,aged 5-7 years) in the UK for over 10 years, initially as a teaching assistant and now as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, which is a recognized status awarded by the Teacher Training Agency. In all those years I have gained a vast amount of knowledge in how to teach literacy and numeracy and a lot of helpful hints and wrinkles (lots of wrinkles!) which I would like to share. Things, as I am sure you as parents have realized, are taught in many different ways to the ways we learned them when we were at school. So I am hoping through this site to show some of the different methods in order that you can help your children to maximize their potential. If you have any questions or there is anything you feel I have not covered please Email me (link on the home page) and I will get back to you as soon as I can. Obviously I do not know everything and do not pretend to but if I can help I will. Thank you ****************************
