are many different words and phrases that represent the 4 basic
mathematical operations that children who are working towards taking their
Standard Assessment Tests will need to be aware of. (There are more but I am only
concentrating on the ones this particular age group may need). They will
be required to solve word problems as well as numeric operations. Methods for working out problems are shown on the
strategies pages.

2 or 4 sets because the concept of multiplying by a fraction is
far too difficult for the majority of 5-7 year olds to comprehend.)
